高智晟作为中国著名的维权律师。长期以来，他站在中国维权活动的第一线，为弱势
群体和受迫害群体及个人仗义执言；他为中共当局眼中的敏感个案辩护，包括法轮功学员
、基督教徒以及与官员发生纠纷的私营企业家和底层农民。也因此遭到当局最严厉的迫害
，他的律师事务所被下令停止执业，他和他的家人则受到多种形式的跟踪、监控、骚扰、
恐吓；他本人还受到过围攻、殴打，乃至如今被非法关押在监狱里长发六年之久。今天我
们站在中华人民共和国驻多伦多总领事馆门前，是要向中共政府强烈抗议。沉默只能让中
共的专制暴行越来越肆无忌惮，躲避只能让恶党的罪恶魔爪伸向越来越多的地方，乃至自
由世界。我们必须捍卫加拿大的自由和民主不受中国共产党的侵犯！我们不可忘记，中共
恶党对一个人的侵犯，就是对所有人的威胁。我们强烈反对中共恶党对高律师及其家人严
酷的政治迫害，并声援所有受打压的异议人士，我们要求中共立即释放高智晟律师，立即
释放所有被关押在监狱的政治犯、良心犯！

Speech in front of the Chinese Consulate in support of lawyer Gao Zhisheng
Gao Zhisheng is a well-known human rights lawyer in China. He has long been at the
forefront of China's rights defense activities, speaking out for vulnerable and persecuted groups
and individuals; he has defended what the Chinese Communist Party considers sensitive cases,
including Falun Gong practitioners, Christians, and entrepreneurs who have had disputes with
officials. As a result, he was severely persecuted by the authorities. His law firm was ordered to
close, and he and his family were subjected to various forms of tracking, monitoring, harassment,
and intimidation; he himself was besieged, and beaten He was illegally detained in prison for six
years till this day. Today we stand here at The Consulate General of the People's Republic of
China in Toronto, to strongly protest to the Chinese government. Silence can only make the CCP's
autocratic atrocities more and more unscrupulous, and avoidance can only make the criminal
claws of the evil party extend to more and more places, even the free world. We must defend
Canada's freedom and democracy from the Chinese Communist Party! We must not forget that the
CCP's invasion of one person is a threat to everyone. We strongly oppose the brutal political
persecution of Lawyer Gao and his family by the Chinese Communist Party, and we stand in
solidarity with all dissidents who have been suppressed. We demand that the Chinese Communist
Party immediately release Lawyer Gao Zhisheng and all political prisoners and prisoners of
conscience!
